Sea cucumber, goose liver, or ice cream

That was our choice at our company’s Christmas banquet.

We all received two poker chips to cash in for the fancy items on the buffet. Not that we really needed the chips because the buffet was stacked. It was bigger than anyone had seen outside of Las Vegas.

So what could the poker chips be used for?
A. Sea cucumber, quite the delicacy in China.
B. Goose liver, another delicacy that’s recently been banned in Los Angeles
C. Steamed papaya filled with coconut milk
D. Haagen-Dazs ice cream

I knew exactly what I would choose: two scoops of cookies-and-cream Haagen-Dazs ice cream. M’Lynn chose unwisely wasting a chip on choice C before finally agreeing that choice D was the only real way to go. Since our ice cream choices in China aren’t that impressive, and Haagen-Dazs is usually way out of our price-range at the import store, she had forgotten how good real ice cream can be!
