Firework's Lost Luster

We have noticed that fireworks seem to have lost some luster now. Each time we see fireworks, we are not impressed as much as I was earlier. Much of this has to do with China (I think you will understand).

After returning from the Spring Festival break (aka Chinese New Year), we walked into what sounded like a war zone. There were fireworks going off constantly for over 3 hours. Come to find out, it was the Lantern Festival, the conclusion of the spring festival holidays. On this day, everyone that has fireworks remaining blasts them into the night sky. And they don't stop until all the fireworks are gone! They must have bought a lot of fireworks, or maybe there are just that many people in China. I think it was a combination of both.
